1850格兰特将军奖章 PCGS MS 66
General U.S. Grant Medal Obverse Struck on an 1850 Braided Hair large cent. Dewitt USG 1868-32, Brunk-Unlisted, Rulau-Unlisted. MS-66 BN (PCGS).An impressive stamp centered on the obverse of the coin. Struck with the obverse die of the medal or token featuring General U.S. Grant, engraved by George H. Lovett for Isaac F. Wood and listed as Rulau-NY NY-395. At least 4 or 5 examples are known and all were most likely struck by Lovett in the late 1870s or early 1880s, all on uncirculated 1850 large cents. This is potentially the finest known example. Inexplicably listed under the 1868 in DeWitt, though clearly not related to that year’s presidential campaign. From the Steve Tompkins Collection.
