1969 Apollo 10 Flown Robbins Medal. Sterling Silver. No. 52 of 300 Flown, presented to Walter M. Schirra. MS-64 (NGC).Approximately 28.5 mm x 29.5 mm (greatest dimensions), badge shape. <strong>Obv:</strong> Mission number X, command module and lunar module above the surface of the moon with Earth in background, peripheral inscription notes name APOLLO above and name of astronauts who flew this particular mission -- STAFFORD YOUNG CERNAN -- around the remainder of the periphery. <strong>Rev:</strong> Mission dates MAY 18-26, 1969 above, medal flown number 52 and STERLING below. The bold sandblast finish and pewter gray patina on the obverse contrast with the brightly reflective finish and lighter silver gray on the reverse. The original owner of this medal was Walter M. Schirra, Jr., the first astronaut to go into space three times and the only one to have taken part in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs.
