Red back inverts of any kind are significant and known on scant Friedberg numbers. The Fr.1357 is the other known red back inverted surcharge type. This Fessenden red back is a real prize and the condition is borderline stunning. This type was missing from the Milt Friedberg, but OMara had an example of this prize note which realized $2,530 in Gem CU back in 2005. This note has deep embossing, fire engine red inks, and flawless paper. It gives the appearance of a far better grade. The only other example is a tightly trimmed PCGS EF 40PPQ that realized $2,820 a half-dozen years ago. This lovely ex: Boyd note should prove to be a solid four-figure item.
