Included are the following: P-3s 5 Dollars Specimen which PMGs pop report as only two graded at the 66 level, with none finer; P-4s 10 Dollars Specimen which is finest graded example for the variety; P-5s 20 Dollars Specimen which PMGs pop report as only two graded at the 66 level, with none finer; & P-6s 100 Dollars Specimen, which PMG misattributed as P-6 on the holder, making it the finest example graded for the P-6s variety. Scarcely encountered, and especially so this nice. All display excellent appeal, almost as if they were printed yesterday. These four notes come from the first series of notes issued by the Currency Board of the British Caribbean Territories, and was the only series to feature King George VI, as the next series in 1953 would feature Queen Elizabeth II.Just four or five examples of each specimen note is listed in PMGs pop report, with the exception being P-6s, with just two encapsulated by their grading service. All notes bear portrait vignettes of an elder King George VI. King George VI would later pass away on the 6th of February, 1952. King George VI was born on the 14th of December, 1895. He saw service in the First World War aboard the battleship HMS Collingwood as a turret officer during the Battle of Jutland, the greatest naval engagement of the first World War. George VI would rule England from 11th of December, 1936 to the 6th of February, 1952.We expect to see spirited bidding on this lot, as this type in any form rarely cross the auction block, especially all at once. We wouldnt be surprised to see our high estimate exceeded.
