1864 Indian Cent. Bronze. Proof-66 BN (PCGS). Handsomely toned in warm medium brown, both sides do retain considerable faded rose-orange color that is best appreciated with the aid of direct lighting. Fully struck throughout with expectably smooth surfaces for that assigned grade. Flying Eagle and Indian cent expert Rick Snow (2014) estimates that the Mint struck 300 Proofs of this issue, a one-year type as the only Indian cent produced in bronze composition without the designers initial L on the obverse.
