Pleasing tan-brown surfaces with a slightly glossy nature.<p><em>The Battle of Dieuze/Morhange was part of the early French campaign to restore lands lost nearly half a century prior in the Franco-Prussian War. The conflict in the region began in mid-August, with German Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria serving as commander of the Sixth and Seventh Armies. The French armies were no match for the Bavarians, and repulsed as is celebrated by Goetz on this medal.</em> From the Richard Jewell Collection.
