Obverse: Bust of Captain Koenig left; Reverse: The submarine <em>Deutschland </em>sailing right with masts raised. Essentially as made, with a few light rust spots.<p><em>One of two German blockade runners, the </em>Deutschland <em>arrived in America at Baltimore for the first time in July 1916. As she was virtually empty, some of the ballast which she was carrying was used to produce commemoratives of the arrival, such as this cross.</em> From the Richard Jewell Collection.
