Shelburne, Illinois. Shelburne Manufacturing Company. October 29, 1861. 15 Cents. PCGS Currency Very Fine 20. Oct. 29, 1861. This is a rare issued scrip note. Frederick R. Dutcher founded Shelburne in 1849 and operated a distillery. In 1853 he added a store and in 1856 opened a large flouring mill under the banner of the Shelburne Manufacturing Co. The business burned to the ground in 1869. The only one we have seen so undoubtedly rare.
