1921 Peace Silver Dollar. High Relief. MS-66 (PCGS). Superior surface preservation for this challenging first year Peace dollar issue, both sides are virtually pristine in hand. Bathed in billowy mint luster, the surfaces are essentially untoned with a light silver gray appearance. A touch of softness in the centers is typical of the issue, although we do note some separation to the hair strands over Libertys ear. The 1921 is the only high relief Peace dollar issue that saw widespread distribution into commercial channels. "Gradeflation" in recent years has made certified Mint State examples readily obtainable in grades up to and including MS-65. In properly graded MS-65+ this issue remains scarce, however, and it is rare any finer. This is a superior quality coin that would do justice to an advanced Peace dollar set.
