1917-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Reverse. MS-64 (PCGS). OGH. The surfaces are of superior quality, with the expanse of the fields and devices remarkably free of contact marks. A strong loupe will find a nick or scuff here and there, but all are of minor annoyance, thus the high eye appeal is retained. Modest, natural gray-golden patina lightly overlays each side to form a fully natural appearance. Minor striking incompleteness is seen on each side, this perhaps the grade-limiting factor. The Walking Liberty half dollar specialist knows how difficult these early mintmarked dates are to obtain at the Choice or finer levels, and such exceptional quality should be pursued whenever offered.
