1873-CC Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-1. Rarity-3. No Arrows, Close 3. EF-45 (PCGS). Medium gunmetal-gray and honey-brown toning covers most of the obverse and reverse. The surfaces are exceptionally smooth and attractive for this 70s Carson City issue. Strong detail remains on the motifs. All 1873-CC No Arrows halves show a Close 3 in the date; conversely, all 1873-CC With Arrows halves are of the Open 3 type. Carson City No Arrows halves always command respect by series collectors and type enthusiasts alike. Just 122,500 pieces were struck, and reportedly many were melted after April, 1873.
