1796 Draped Bust Dime. JR-3. Rarity-5. AG-3 (PCGS). Iridescent undertones of deep rose, antique gold and midnight blue backlight dominant charcoal-steel patina on both sides of this deeply toned example. The obverse periphery is soft, yet with a legible date, and much of Libertys portrait is outlined. The lower left reverse is worn smooth, as is the upper right border on that side, but other areas retain at least some detail that is more or less discernible depending upon viewing angle. Along with JR-5, JR-3 is the second scarcest die marriage of the popular first year 1796 Draped Bust dime. From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection.
