1796 Draped Bust Dime. JR-2. Rarity-4. VF-35 (PCGS). Boldly toned in competing blushes of charcoal and steel gray, this is an overall boldly defined Choice VF to represent one of the scarcer die marriages of the historic 1796 dime. Both sides are well centered on the planchet, although only the reverse exhibits full denticulation around the border. JR-2 represents the only use of this obverse die, which is easily distinguished by the letter R in LIBERTY well above the adjacent E at its base. From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection.
