1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 32.3-X.4, W-3235. Rarity-2. Draped Bust Left. EF-45 (PCGS). 125.6 grains. Lovely autumn-brown patina overall, both sides also exhibit subtle olive highlights in isolated areas. Struck trivially off center to 11 oclock on the obverse, 7 oclock on the reverse, the border on the latter side through the bottom of the date, although all obverse devices are fully outlined. Most features are boldly rendered, in fact, mentionable softness confined to the centers -- almost certainly due to a sinking die -- where original planchet texture remains. There are no flan flaws or marks of note, the surfaces with good gloss and an overall smooth appearance in hand. A common variety, but nicer than those usually encountered. Collector envelope with attribution notation included.
