1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition Souvenir Spoon with a Thomas Jefferson Commemorative Gold Dollar in the Bowl. 140 mm. 22.35 grams total weight. About Uncirculated. The stem has the dates 1803 near the bowl and 1904 at the distal end, with increasingly modern scenes between them, from an Indian chasing a buffalo to a steam locomotive. The back of the stem is inscribed COPYRIGHT / 1902 BY / BERT / BALL // OFFICIAL / W.B. STEVENS SECY. // LOUISIANA PURCHASE EXPOSITION / ST. LOUIS // STERLING // 1904. The bowl is dominated by an image of the Festival Hall and Cascades, with a very choice and sharply struck high-level, brilliant Uncirculated 1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition Jefferson gold dollar in a brass bezel embedded at its center. A handsome and very rare souvenir of the exposition. Not listed in Krueger. From the Q. David Bowers Collection.
