“1815” Major General Andrew Jackson medal. Original Dies. Copper, Bronzed. 65 mm. Julian MI-15. MS-64 BN (NGC). Deep mahogany bronze with pleasing satin luster and nice eye appeal overall. A couple of tiny spots are noted on the reverse and there is a gentle rim bump at the lower obverse. Struck from the original dies completed by Moritz Furst in 1821 and 1822, but still in use as of 1885, according to Charles Barber. A trace of spalling is noted on the lower bust and crumbling is evident around the reverse rim.
