MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III (the Great), 336-323 B.C. AR Tetradrachm, Sidon Mint, Dated RY 10 of Abdalonymos (324/3 B.C.). NGC EF.Pr-3495. Lifetime issue. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; K (date) in left field; below throne, ΣI below strut. Some striking weakness on the obverse, but an otherwise pleasing example of this type struck just before the death of Alexander.
