Light pewter gray with fine hairlines and a small rim bump on each side. Traces of soft golden brown toning in the fields. This is the earliest die state of those in the Baker Collection, without any evidence of the obverse crack or rim break. As noted by Musante, the June 1864 sale of the George F.
