Circa 1855 Washington Monument at Baltimore medalet by Robert Lovett, Jr. Musante GW-195, Baker-323. Silver. MS-63 (PCGS).20.5 mm. 80.9 grains. Good reflectivity in the fields on both sides, while the devices are sharp and satiny. The obverse is more deeply toned, with lilac, blue-green and deep gray blended over the entirety. The reverse is a bit more brilliant and richly colorful, with light greenish gold at the center and vivid rose and violet around. Some faint hairlines and a couple of tiny rim marks are noted, but the eye appeal is very nice and this is a good chance to get this medalet in silver. This is the Musante plate piece.Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
