Circa 1847 House of Temperance medal. Musante GW-174, Baker-329A. Brass. MS-65 (PCGS).41.6 mm. Rich golden brass with bold reflectivity on the obverse and soft rose accents in the peripheral fields. The reverse is slightly subdued, deeper gold in color with soft rose and blue iridescence. Superb quality and eye appeal. Purchased as one of a set of three in the Bushnell sale, but struck a little later than the copper specimen offered in the lot above. See the previous description for notes on the emission sequence.
