1901-S Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-66 (PCGS).Intensely lustrous, predominantly frosty white surfaces exhibit the lightest pale silver and pink iridescence as the coin rotates under a light. Both sides are fully struck with an expectably smooth appearance for the assigned grade. A scarce San Francisco Mint Morgan dollar in all grades (probably due to widespread melting of undistributed examples), the 1901-S is also a conditionally challenging issue that can be very difficult to locate any finer than MS-64. Here, then, is a significant bidding opportunity for the advanced collector specializing in this perennially popular silver dollar series.
