Light golden brown, the surfaces have taken on a striated texture on both sides, somewhat softening the completeness of the strike. Ample amounts of the host survive, especially at upper left obverse and lower left reverse; the 1787dates of both host and parasite are clearly visible on the obverse side of the New Jersey copper.
