Uncut Sheet of (4) T-65. Confederate Currency. 1864 $100. PMG About Uncirculated 53.We had the privilege of selling this sheet in our Spring 2019 Baltimore sale where we described it as "PF-3. No. 96187. Plate A-B-C-D. Strong color. A remarkable uncut sheet on this appealing 1864 $100 Lucy Pickens design type. Mrs. Pickens is seen at center, the wife of the Governor of South Carolina. Arms and Artillery at lower left and George Randolph at lower right. A previous sale of an uncut sheet of this type numbered 96249 was sold in a Heritage 2007 sale where it was described as "In 2004, Fricke estimated there might be 6-10 T65 $100 uncut sheets of four. Weve only ever laid eyes on two, including this piece." That lot brought $10,575, we would expect a similar realization here. PMG mentions "Stains," in the comments section of the holder which are mostly small and not overly offensive." It brought $8,700 in that sale, a figure likely to be reach or even exceeded this evening.
