There are fewer readily evident handling marks than one might expect at the assigned grade level, a bit more intensity to the luster probably sufficient to have secured an even higher Choice Mint State rating from NGC. Demand for this classic 20th century double eagle design type is such that even multiple offerings in a given sale, as here, never fail to see spirited bidding among advanced gold enthusiasts.
