The Columbian Exposition award medal is widely recognized as one of the finest medallic portraits of Christopher Columbus ever produced. This one was awarded to Victor Gerschal, whose name is on the base of the plaque on the reverse. Housed in the original fitted case with black plush interior, metal exterior that has toned lightly in golden-gray.
