1875 Trade Dollar. Proof-62 Cameo (PCGS).A beautiful and originally toned example of this Proof issue. The devices are snowy and heavily frosted, contrasting the reflective and icy fields. Scattered traces of bronze and crimson iridescence are scattered in the peripheries on both sides. Most survivors of this 700-piece Proof issue are of the Type I/II hub combination, as here. As an issue, however, the 1875 is among the scarcer Proof trade dollars, especially when compared to the more highly regarded Proof-only issues of 1878 to 1883. A find for the astute collector.
