1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. Heraldic Eagle. BB-105, B-23. Rarity-3. Pointed 9, Wide Date. EF Details--Improperly Cleaned (NGC).The initial presentation is that of a high grade coin that displays mottled gray and yellow-gold toning. Close study finds minor evidence of cleaning and tiny specks of irregular toning. Even so, the sharpness offered here is certainly remarkable for this early type. This die pairing is easily confirmed by the 8 touching the bust and the two stars left of the eagles beak nearly touching point to point on the bottom and middle row, features unique to this die pair. The surfaces are average otherwise on his technically high grade and still appealing Bust dollar.
