1896 Bryan Dime. Silvered Type Metal. 43 mm. 38.2 grams. Schornstein-344, Zerbe-45. Choice Very Fine. The silver plating has flaked away from much of the surface, leaving a mottled dove gray and charcoal finish. As the cataloged example, but apparently heavily plated type metal instead of silvered hard white metal, as Schornstein states, and with a plain as opposed to diagonally reeded edge. An especially elusive type noted by Schornstein to be "Extremely Rare."
