1844-D Liberty Head Half Eagle. AU-55 (NGC).Bright golden surfaces display premium quality throughout with no distractions of note. Razor sharp in strike with generous remaining luster in the protected areas. Although the 1844-D rivals the 1843-D and 1845-D as the most readily obtainable Dahlonega Mint five from the 1840s, it is the scarcest issue of this trio in AU and Mint State grades, especially with the quality offered here.
