拍品描述： LOT2234A。Gold Temple Money, Chun Hua Yuan Bao, Gold Chun Hua Yuan Bao: the first buddha gold coin found in China. In the spring of 1988, two gold coins with Buddha on reverse were found during the clean-up of a pagoda base in the Mount Wutai, the Buddhist holy land. It was then identified as the Gold Chun Hua Yuan Bao struck during Song Dynasty. Two buddhas are struck on the reverse, one is standing on the left and the other is sitting on the right. The relief is 0.2 cm. Facial features are clearly seen and the body is vivid. There is aura behind the Buddha, and lotus seat and auspicious clouds under him. Chinese characters "Chun Hua Yuan Bao" are struck on the obverse. The coin is 2.4 cm in diameter and 0.12 cm thick. The inner hole diameter is 0.5 cm. It is struck by 96% fineness gold and weights 12g. After investigation, coin experts believe the yuan bao is designed by Emperor Taizong of Song and specially struck for Mount Wutai pagoda as charm coin.
