Fr. 2152-I*. 1934 LGS Star Note $100 Federal Reserve Star Note. PCGS Currency Gem New 65 PPQ.A remarkable small-size condition rarity that is one of just two light green seal $100 notes PCGS Currency has graded, regardless of series or district. This 1934 Minneapolis note and just a single other 1934 piece but on the Cleveland district. Even notes at the lower range of the Uncirculated scale are extremely scarce and bring strong realizations when offered. A look at the PMG population report further cements the rarity of these high-grade $100s with them having certified just a single light green seal $100 replacement at the Gem level, regardless of district and series as well. The PMG graded piece is the serial number D00000001* note which is certified at the 66 EPQ level. It is a note we sold in our August 2013 ANA sale where it brought an outstanding $88,125 as lot 3457. The overall quality on this Minneapolis note is terrific with overall quality that rivals the PMG 66 EPQ note. Although not seen here with a number one number, this Gem offering will still generate massive attention from collectors.
