Fr. 740. 1918 $1 Federal Reserve Bank Note. Dallas. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Serial Number 4.When single digit large-size notes are mentioned, typically the 1899 One Dollar Silver Certificate series are the first thought. Those "Black Eagle," notes are well known in single digit form and trade hands quite often, Virtually all other issues of large-size currency are highly scarce to rare when overprinted with serial numbers of one through ten. This 1918 "Green Eagle," One Dollar Federal Reserve Bank Note is certainly in the rare category with this number K4A note being known along with the K1A-K3A sheet mates. The last to sell from the sheet was over 20 years ago and this note has been out of the public eye for nearly a quarter century. Outstanding quality is also a worthy trait as the custodians of this item took great care of the bill since it left the B.E.P. Fully original and with ink quality that matches what one would expect for this first sheet produced. Nicely centered and with appeal that would suggest an even higher grade.
