The first of the Richmond notes issued after the relocation of the Confederate capital, these high quality $100s were produced by the Southern Bank Note Company in New Orleans which was the southern operating branch of the American Bank Note Company. Justice with sword and scales is seen at left. A steam locomotive with cars in tow chugs by a river at center. Minerva, the goddess of war, is seen at right. PMG mentions "Annotation, Pinholes," in the comments section of the holder with the former contemporary pen and bit of pencil at back and the later being a pair of exceptionally difficult to observe pinholes in the HUNDRED protector.From the Wealth of the South Collection.
