Houston, Texas. Republic of Texas. Dec. 1, 1837 $10. PCGS Currency Very Fine 20. Pen Cancelled.No. 1218. An important series that predates the typically seen Rawdon produced notes and offerings of this series are extremely rare. This piece is quite nicer than typically had with the problems mentioned by PCGS Currency note being overly distracting. They comment "Edge and Internal Splits and Tears; Minor Stains and Ink Erosion; Pen Cancelled," in the comments section. The namesake for the note comes from the outlined "Texas Star" at top center with 10 and X counters flanking at the left and right respectively. Pleasing ornamental design at the borders with REPUBLIC OF TEXAS and TEN DOLLARS vertically at the left and right.
