1786 Connecticut Copper. Miller 4.1-G, W-2525. Rarity-3. Mailed Bust Left. VF-30 (PCGS).152.5 grains. Glossy olive brown with a bit of deep tan mottling. Slight natural planchet roughness is noted above the head and through the letters CON, but this is barely seen at all with the unaided eye. Both sides are nicely centered and while a few of the letters of the reverse legend are tight to the rim, there is little or no loss of detail. The same is true of the date, which is clear. Very satisfying overall. From the Twin Leaf Collection of Connecticut & Massachusetts Coppers. Earlier ex Eighth Annual C4 Convention sale, November 2002:240.
