1858-C Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. AU-58 (NGC). CAC.A handsome honey-orange example with an uncommonly original appearance in a minimally circulated Charlotte Mint quarter eagle. The strike is generally bold, especially on the obverse, and the in hand appearance is pleasingly smooth. Only 9,056 quarter eagles were produced at the Charlotte Mint in 1858 with todays typical survivor most apt to be VF or marginally finer. Not heavily marked and choice for the grade, this is one quarter eagle that will experience strong bidding activity.
