1876 Nevada Dollar. Silver. 38 mm. HK-19, Julian CM-36. Rarity-5. Proof-63 (PCGS).This is a beautifully toned specimen dressed in a blend of deep blue-gray and lighter champagne-pink iridescence. The Liberty Bell side is the more boldly patinated of the two sides. Sharply defined with ample reflectivity in the fields shining forth as the surfaces rotate under a light. Produced in conjunction with the 1876 U.S. Centennial Exposition, this type was struck from dies engraved by William Barber using silver ore mined in Nevada. Examples were sold at the Nevada Building on the Exposition grounds.
