1926 Peace Silver Dollar. MS-66+ (PCGS). CAC.This is a simply lovely Peace silver dollar that is tied for finest certified at PCGS. Attractively toned, both sides reveal wisps of pale gold, powder blue and silver-apricot iridescence. It is fully lustrous, overall smooth, and displays razor sharp striking detail.pAlthough produced in far fewer numbers (1,939,000 pieces), the 1926 is often grouped with the 1922, 1923, 1924 and 1925 as one of the most available Peace dollars in Mint State. While the 1926 is certainly not as scarce as many mintmarked issues in this series such as the 1924-S and 1927-D, it is significantly scarcer than the preceding four Philadelphia Mint issues. This is particularly true in the finest Mint State grades. In fact, PCGS has yet to certify a single 1926 finer than MS-66+, whereas the firm has bestowed Superb Gem grades on several 1922, 1923, 1924 and 1925 silver dollars, as well as MS-68 ratings on one example each of the 1924 and 1925. This gorgeous 1926 would make a fine addition to a top flight Peace dollar collection or a better date type set. From the Ward T. Miller Jr. Collection.
