MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1880/70-Do TB. Durango Mint. NGC MS-64.KM-377.4; DP-Do66. Overdate, "80/70" not listed on NGC insert. Single finest certified of the date at NGC with none at the mint state level on the PCGS census. Sharply struck with good definition of the fine details leaving an excellent rendition of the radiant Phrygian cap and intricately engraved Mexican Eagle. Lustrous surfaces somewhat subdued with rich cabinet tone, the obverse displays a plethora of hues that pop out when tilted in the light. While the reverse displays an attractive russet throughout with beautiful cobalt tone in the peripherals as well as atop of the devices. Clearly an example which sat for a prolonged period of time undisturbed.
