The oldest medal in the lot is a 1744 British Lord Carteret Medal, Eimer-584, Near Mint. There is also a fine silver reproduction of a 17th Century Swiss Double Taler (dated 1958), and a beautiful cased Art Deco Italian medal celebrating a record-setting flight of 24 seaplanes from Rome to The Worlds Fair in Chicago in 1933. The only one of these large (45-80 mm) medals not from Europe is an unusual Mexican silver medal dated 1902 honoring the accomplishments of President Porfirio Diaz (Grove P130a) said to be a restrike produced in 1950.
