黎元洪，字宋卿，湖北黄陂人，清末任湖北新军二十一混成协(协相当于旅)统领。1911年10月10日武昌起义后，黎元洪被推举担任湖北军政府大都督，南京临时政府成立时，他当选为副总统。1914年袁世凯解散国会，篡改约法，他担任参政院院长。袁世凯死后，他由副总统继任大总统，后曾一度被迫下台。1922年，他受直系军阀支持，又複任总统。黎元洪在20世纪初，从一个旧军人到二次担任副总统、总统

A native of huangpi, Hubei province, was appointed as the commander of the 21st mixed union of the Hubei new army in the late Qing dynasty. After the wuchang uprising on october 10, 1911, Li Yuan Hung was promoted to the position of governor of Hubei military government. When the nanjing provisional government was founded, he was elected as vice president. In 1914, Yuan Shi Kai dissolved the parliament and served as president of the senate. After Yuan Shi Kais death, he was forced to step down as a president. In 1922, he was supported by Zhili Clique and became president again.
