Islamic - Post-Mongol Iran & Timurid. TIMURID: Badi al-Zaman, 1499-1502, AR tanka (4.70g), NM, AH905, A-A2444, probably struck at Balkh, the center of his rebellion against Sultan Husayn, who later countermarked this coin with beh bud herat in the 3rd style (type A-2439), VF, RRR. This type was incorrectly cited as "anonymous" in the Checklist, corrected for the 4th edition. The name Sultan Badi al-Zaman is perfectly clear across the obverse center, with the date immediately below badi.
