Bond paper Specimen notes were avidly pursued in the first Eldorado sale. There were only 4,000 notes authorized December 1880. Rarely seen issued and the signed note in the first sale realized $6,000. Brown tint and back. Globe and transportation theme at the top (same vignette used on Hawaii). Blue 0000 serial number and SPECIMEN in red. Noted as previously mounted (a paper remnant at the left end of the back) and with pinholes. An exquisite piece.
