Fine to Very Fine.An impressive fully issued certificate from this act from the same series, but styled differently with a straight red protector across. A listed series in Hessler, but note the style or acreage. Like previous, printed on bond paper by Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. 29.0cm by 23.0cm. Top center black and white horses are startled and running, contained within main titles. Obligation text across certificate. Lower left, male portrait (likely naval officer) and lower right, Jackson. Red EIGHTY ACRES protector across. Bottom, under frameline, transfer text. Embossed seal. No.45588. Issued to a private in the New Hampshire Militia from the War of 1812. The blank verso is nearly completely endorsed with three documentations from the County of Grafton and has an affixed blue seal. Heavy vertical tri-folds and handling. Upper right splitting on the hard fold and some fold soiling. Overall, superior quality and an exceptional piece of Americana and United States military history. This is a very rare type and we found no other sale records of recent memory. We have not seen a Proof of the type and it was not in Ford or other major sales surveyed for this research. This may be formerly from Boyd-T. James Clarke as there is lightly penciled code on the back that looks like Clarkes. Last sold in 1993 in Lancaster County at the Smythe sponsored show and auction.
