1850-O Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-Unlisted. MS-62 (NGC).This richly toned example exhibits bold sandy-gray patina to the obverse that yields to lighter antique silver over much of the reverse. Satiny in texture with an uncommonly smooth appearance for the assigned grade. Although scarce in an absolute sense, the 1850-O is one of the more readily obtainable New Orleans Mint half dollars of the Liberty Seated design, the present example equally well suited for mintmarked type purposes and inclusion in a specialized collection. This coin was struck from the same reverse of WB-12, although the obverse does not match any listed in Volume III of Bill Bugerts <em>Register of Liberty Seated Half Dollar Varieties</em>.
