1934-D Mercury Dime. MS-67 FB (PCGS).Frosty and smooth, otherwise silver-tinged surfaces exhibit a few swirls of iridescent toning in the right reverse field. After striking no dimes in 1932 or 1933, the Denver Mint produced 6,772,000 examples in 1934. As the worst effects of the Great Depression had not yet passed, many of those coins remained in government storage and were not released until later in the decade, at which time a fair number of Mint State examples were set aside by contemporary numismatists. This is an exceptionally well preserved Superb Gem that will delight even the most discerning collector. From the Anne Kate Collection.
