MCMVII (1907) Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. High Relief. Wire Rim. MS-64+ (PCGS).A pristine example of this iconic issue with matte-like surfaces and significant traces of die polishing throughout the fields on each side. The overall khaki gold coloration is accented by a subtle marbling of honey-gold tones across the reverse. Boldly pronounced throughout, a subtle wire rim dances along the majority of the obverse circumference and along half of the reverse edge. A small blemish at the lower obverse border will help trace this dazzling near-Gem through future cabinets. Exceptional quality in an issue widely considered to be the most beautiful to ever emerge from the United States Mint.
