1927 Lincoln Token by Thomas L. Elder. Cunningham 10-370X, King-1043, DeLorey-48. Gold. 18 karats. 15 mm. MS-65 PL (NGC).This Elder token boasts choice prooflike reflective surfaces on both sides. It is thought that between 300 and 500 of these gold pieces were struck, with possibly 200 of those melted down when they did not sell. This issue of Elder Lincoln tokens in the gold dollar size were omitted from the Hibler-Kappen so-called dollar catalog, while the very similar 1939 issue was listed because of its association with the 1939-1940 Worlds Fair in New York City.
