GREAT BRITAIN. Pattern Dollar, 1804. George III (1760-1820). NGC MS-64.ESC-182; KM-Pn66; Davis-21. An intriguing pattern, struck over a Spanish colonial 8 Reales (with 1796 date visible at 12 oclock on the obverse) and sharing the same date and denomination as Americas most famous coin. Similar to the adopted design for this emergency issue, with the main difference being a circular garter and shield on the reverse instead of a portrayal of Britannia within a thick oval border. Lightly handled, this piece displays mild reflectivity beneath dusky golden tone on both sides. SCARCE certified quality for the issue.NGC MS-64.
