GREAT BRITAIN. Guinea, 1713. Anne (1702-14). NGC MS-64+.S-3574; Fr-320; KM-534. Third draped bust. Sensational quality for a Guinea of Anne with fields that boast thick, frosty luster and show only trivial forms of handling that have minimal influence on the appearance. Further inspection helps to verify the quality, as the strike is essentially full (a tiny area of softness appears in the reverse crowned shield that divides the date, but otherwise all detail is entirely sharp) and the planchet is free from the distracting haymarking that so often accompanies the type. A warm bloom of orange tone accents portions of the design and helps to ensure absolute originality. All considered, one of the finest Guineas of Anne extant and to date, the single finest graded of any date by either NGC or PCGS; thus, an extremely important coin for the British type collector.NGC MS-64+.
